Easy Pierogi Casserole

This is a little time consuming to make, but it’s worth it!

Pierogi Casserole

This is an easy and delicious casserole if you love potato and cheese pierogies.


  • 1 box Large Shells
  • 1 box Instant Potatoes
  • 2 cups Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Large Onion (Sliced Thin)
  • 1 cup Butter


Cook the Pasta
Step 1
Bring water to boil, cook shells and drain pasta.
Cook the Onions
Step 2
As the pasta is cooking, melt 3/4 cup of butter in a skillet and add onions. Cook slowly.
Prepare the Filling

Make the box of instant potatoes (about 16-20 servings) as directed on box (either microwave or stove directions). Once cooked, add shredded cheddar cheese and mix until melted.
Prepare the Casserole
Step 4
Melt 1/4 cup of butter and pour it in the base of a casserole dish. Stuff the shells with the potato and cheese mixture and place into the casserole. Once all of the shells have been filled, pour the onion & butter mixture from the skillet over the top of the casserole.
Cook & Serve

Cover the casserole cook for 20-30 minutes at 325° until hot.
